Polish artist Paulina Olowska was born in Gdansk in 1976, where she studied painting and graphic art from 1997 to 2000. She currently lives between New York and Cracow. Paulina Olowska’s art stands in the tradition of both the modern environment and the Bauhaus style, and is stamped by the artist’s fascination with modern utopias. Her work has made use of various techniques and methods of presentations. Olowska transfers the concept of montage into a social context, she organized several public open project spaces, has worked with students and collectives, and is active in public sculpture and public wall painting. For the collaboration with LRRH_ Olowska is going to treat the medium of fahion as a manifestation for her mural projects in the small town of Rabka- Zdroj in Poland. Together with a group of students she painted the entire building of a children puppet theatre in the mode of 1960s designs. The edition is going to be the memento of that story; a souvenir as well as an artefact transfering the project’s spirit into public space. Paulina Olowska is represented by Daniel Buchholz Gallery, Metro Pictures Gallery and Cabinet.
